Dubai Culture Urban Pod (Winner)

Urban Pod Design Competition, an initiative organized by the Center for Research, Innovation, and Design (CRID), that brought together students across the School of Architecture, Art and Design (SAAD) to explore innovative approaches to animal-friendly urban furniture within public spaces. The Urban Pod Design Competition stands as a testament to the power of the triad collaboration between academia (AUD), government (Dubai Culture), and industry (Livescale), and to the ability of students to translate visionary ideas into impactful design propositions.  The competition was embedded across 10 courses, guided by 9 faculty members. More than 110 entries spanning the programs of Architecture, Interior Design, and MUDDE. 

 

The evaluation process was conducted through a rigorous multi-stage virtual review, led by a distinguished panel of 13 jury members [Mr. Mahmoud Shahin, Mr. Juan Tena Florez, Mr. Benjamin Piper, Mr. Li Ren, Mrs. Stacie Long, Mr. Quinton van Wyk, Ms. Alejandra Arias, Ms. Khulood Khoory, Mr. Basel Tachwali, Mr. Yahya Jan, Mr. Hisham Bou Habib, Ms. Sahar Fikree, and Ms. Ila Colombo].
